The Role of Economic Games in Business and Education

Economic games are one of the most popular genres in the gaming market. They often allow for the development of skills related to resource management and strategic planning. In today’s complex economic and business landscape, such a game can serve as an excellent educational tool for people of various ages and levels of experience.

Innovative Game Project from Moonce.space

One of the more intriguing projects currently in development is the “AI Economy Game” from Moonce.space, created by Mateusz Damazyn, Tomasz Pawlik, and Adrian Miesikowski. In this game, players will have the opportunity to take on the roles of workers, visionaries, traders, as well as entrepreneurs, and manage their own companies, taking into account various factors such as production costs, sales, advertising, and many more. The game features four distinct characters, each with their specific tasks and objectives.

Define Your Goals and Role in the Gameplay

As an entrepreneur, you need to manage your company, plan production, hire employees, and focus on growing your business. Your goal is to achieve the highest position in the market, gain trust from customers and investors, and expand your company into new markets. In the role of a trader, you must learn to analyze the commodities market and master the art of negotiation. Your objective is to trade commodities at advantageous prices and sell them for a profit. The virtual market is highly dynamic and subject to constant changes, so you must always be vigilant and quickly adapt to shifting circumstances. Visionaries who invest in education and scientific development can establish their own school, college, or technical institute. Your aim is to nurture the finest scientists capable of creating new technologies, products, and services, earning numerous valuable awards and recognitions. As a laborer, you must perform production tasks in other players’ companies.

Additional Benefits with NFT Cards

Your goal is to engage in regular activity and focus on developing your character, giving you the opportunity to advance to higher positions and earn more money. In the game, there will also be NFT cards available, which will provide additional advantages in companies. These cards will be obtained in schools and universities, and they can also be traded on the Metapro market. This will give players an extra source of income, while also allowing them to acquire new skills that will facilitate the growth of their businesses.

Time Limits and Restrictions

“AI Economy Game” will be available in several economic zones, each with a limited operational period. After a year, there will be a 0.1% chance of the zone closing each day. When a specific zone is closed, players will have the option to transfer their NFT Cards and Plots to other economic zones and start the game anew. Each zone will be able to accommodate a maximum of 500 companies, and the number of employees will depend on the available slots in the companies. The closure of economic zones aims to prevent individual zones/servers from stagnating and to eliminate predictability in the game. This way, the game will always remain engaging for players. The game will require players to be flexible and respond quickly to changing circumstances. The virtual market is highly dynamic and subject to constant changes, so players must be vigilant and swiftly adapt their strategies to new situations.

Districts (servers)

Players log into different districts (servers), each with a limited operational duration of one year. After this, a closure counter is activated, increasing the chance of server closure by 0.1% daily. Once a server is closed, it ceases to function and resources can’t be transferred to other servers. However, NFT cards remain in the player’s account and can be used on other servers. New servers appear at intervals of 1-2 months, and each server can host a maximum of 500 companies, with the number of workers determined by the capacity of built companies.

NFT Workers

Worker Cards in the form of NFTs are available. These cards can be acquired in schools available in the game or on the external market. As a player, you have the opportunity to establish your own School, University, or Polytechnic on your owned parcel and wait until you educate your first scientists in the form of NFT Cards. These cards, in turn, bring additional benefits in Companies.

💼

Parcels (lands)

A key role is played by Parcels, which are unique NFT Cards. In order to build a company, you must possess an NFT Card of a specific parcel. These cards will be available during the pre-launch sale, known as Presale. The most important feature of the Parcel cards is that they are exchangeable. This means you can trade them, adding an extra dimension of strategy and resource management to the game. Moreover, if the game server is closed, it will be possible to exchange the NFT card for a new, random card of the same or better quality in a newly opened district. It’s crucial to emphasize this feature, as it adds an additional layer of security for the players’ investments.

Buildings

Buildings in our world play an incredibly important role. They are the centers of production and the focal points for workers who increase production efficiency. We place them on plots, which can be considered as the base for every building. Depending on the type of building, various resources can be extracted or produced there.

Each building, once placed on a plot, has a standard production level of 100%. However, this can change when we hire workers. Each active worker increases production by 2%, which allows us to boost our operations’ efficiency.

However, it’s worth remembering that our workers should be compensated for their work. We pay them in MCE currency, which is a cost, but considering the increased production, it’s an investment that pays off quickly.

Importantly, by increasing production, we do not consume more resources. For example, if our sawmill operates at 200% efficiency, then from one piece of wood, after 4 hours, we will get two planks, not one as in the case of 100% production.

Sickness and vacations

In the game, there are two types of random variables that can impact your company’s production: vacations and illnesses. Each of these variables reduces production by 20%. The current level of probability, usually set at 10%, determines whether these events occur.

We can reduce this probability by using NFT cards or by choosing the right parcel. If we manage to decrease the level of any of these factors to zero, through the use of worker NFT cards or the right parcel selection, we eliminate the risk of either vacation or illness occurrence.

Importantly, both these situations can occur at the same time, lowering production by up to 40% for a certain period. Another key aspect to note is that a decrease in production does not correlate with reduced resource consumption. Therefore, if production is reduced to 80%, only 0.8 units of wood would be produced from one unit of wood.

Factory Production

Each company in the game produces specific resources. In order to produce them, additional materials may be needed. As a standard, to produce one unit of a given resource, we need one unit of each required material. This is where production coefficients come into play. At the very beginning, we subtract the percentage of production that is dependent on employee illnesses or holidays. The next step is to add a bonus from active employees in the company – for each employee, we add 2% to production. The next element is to multiply the current bonus by the bonus from the plot, and finally, we multiply everything by bonuses from NFT cards.

The formula looks like this:

Production = (Basic Production – Percent Illnesses/Holidays) + (1 + 0.02 * Number of Employees) * Parcel Bonus * Total Bonus from NFT Cards

Worker

An employee can join a company where there are not full number of job positions filled. Their task is to confirm activity in each cycle of a given company’s operation. The more systematic an employee is, the higher their rank increases. It can reach up to level 3.

If an employee joins a company and is not active, their rank may deteriorate, which can result in being expelled from the company. Companies in the game have a specified minimum rank at which an employee can work. They receive compensation every hour in an active work cycle (the faster they confirm activity, the more they earn in a given cycle). One employee (one account) can work in a maximum of one company, they can change companies after the end of the production cycle and before confirming activity. The compensation is paid to the virtual game account in the form of MCE tokens.

Market

The market in the game allows for the trading of produced resources within the game. After producing a given resource, we can sell it on the market to another player. Each transaction is subject to a 10% tax. The selling player sets the price for one unit of their resource and the quantity they want to sell. The buyer purchases resources in MCE tokens. Final goods such as computers or cars are purchased by AI which continuously analyzes the resource market, checking the costs that the producing company could have incurred, thereby determining the maximum amount it can pay. If there are offers within these price ranges, depending on the demand, the AI will purchase certain products from users.
